'Flutter Code' and all associated works were created, produced and compiled on unceded Aboriginal land. General Merchant acknowledges that it operates on stolen land, belonging to the Gadigal and Wangal people of the Eora Nation, and we pay our respects to Aboriginal elders past, present and emerging.

Gerard Langford (Slow83) is a Naarm based producer releasing his second EP, ‘Flutter Code’. Slow83 adds his unique stamp to percussive and functional bass music, paying homage to the lands which surround and raised him, specifically forest ecosystems. Flutter Code is a deeply personal exploration into this connection, providing Gerard with an opportunity to reconnect with nature and his past whilst living in the city, away from home.

The artwork commissioned for this release was created by Astrid Elouise Bell (@atomicglum on instagram). Astrid is a painter, writer, and general rummager, living and working between the lands of the Gadigal and Dharawal people. Her work is broadly interested in the things that elude our grasp, support structures and the stories that bring us to our work and each other. Using painting to reveal history through the object and phenomena obscured by habit. Astrid's artworks are largely made at her family home in Thirroul, a practice which resonates with the spirit of this EP.

This release will be accompanied by a launch party in Eora on the 3rd of September.
